Why humans-only · Promosia

Real music. Real artists. Verified.

As fully AI-generated music gets harder to distinguish, listeners can come to a track believing it represents a human creator and feel let down when the origin is disclosed later. Promosia narrows that gap before the release reaches a curator’s inbox.

For independent musicians, the same wave floods the channels they publish to — and visibility and attribution get harder without an unambiguous signal that the music was written, performed and recorded by a person. Promosia is that signal.

The problem

The dynamic Promosia is built to reduce.

Two dynamics on the audience side, one caveat on the positioning. We describe the dynamics in plain language — not specific events — so the framing stays honest about what verification actually does.

For listeners

The listener problem

A listener can come to a track believing it represents a human creator and feel misled or disappointed later when the AI origin is disclosed. By the time that disclosure lands, the recommendation, the playlist, the saved track — all gone. The discovery loop is short, and the trust repair cost is high.

For independent artists

The artist problem

When AI-generated tracks flood the same channels, independent human musicians compete for visibility and attribution without an unambiguous signal that the music was written, performed and recorded by a person. The audience can’t tell — and the curator’s inbox doesn’t either.

What we don’t do

Promosia is not "anti-AI"

We don’t claim every verified track is “AI-free.” We verify the human-authored parts and require disclosure of any AI assistance. A verified record may use a drum-sample library, a vocal tuning aid, or a generative stem — so long as the artist disclosed what was used.

How we verify

Three checks. One verified human-authorship chain.

The three checks are yes-or-no questions about the record you’re about to campaign. If even one is no, hold the submission — the intake will save you the work. The exact wording below is shared with our full verification standard.

Check 01

Written by you, end to end.

Every lyric, melodic line, and arrangement choice is yours. No ghostwriter on credit, no commissioned topline, no model-generated lyrics shipped under your name. Promosia verifies the credit chain at intake — not just the audio.

Check 02

Performed by you on the record.

Your voice on the lead. No deepfake vocal, no licensed stem rendered to a different singer, no instrument recorded by someone else and credited to you. The performance behind the campaign is the person behind the campaign.

Check 03

Recorded in a session you ran.

You were behind the session in some real capacity — not a stem pack you paid for, not a fully assembled beat with no recorded contribution from you. The recording credit should read like work, not a purchase receipt.

Disclosed AI assistance

Assistive tools are fine — when they’re disclosed.

A drummer’s quantized grid, a vocal tuning aid, or a generative stem are all welcome on a verified record — so long as the artist declares them at intake. The intake form carries three booleans — aiAssistanceLyrics, aiAssistanceVocal, aiAssistanceProduction — and a short aiAssistanceDetails note. The values live on the verification standard, so reviewers see what was used and listeners see what was disclosed.

The caveat

“Human-verified” means the human-authored parts met the three checks. It is not the same as “AI-free” — a verified track may use a drum-sample library, a vocal tuning aid, or a generative stem so long as the artist disclosed it. Promosia does not advertise verified tracks as “100% human,” so the discovery surface makes truth claims it can stand behind.

Next action

Pick the path that matches you.

Listeners come to discover artists; artists come to verify a record. Both paths end at the same standard — the roster.

For listeners

What you can learn from a listing.

Promosia is a discovery layer for verified human artists. Every roster entry stands behind the same three-check standard, with the AI-assisted parts disclosed — not hidden.

  • Every roster listing passed the three checks

Written, performed, recorded — verified at intake, not just by an audio waveform.

  • Published roster discloses AI assistance

If a verified artist used assistive tools and declared them, the profile shows what was used.

  • No "AI-free" claim

Only a verified human authorship chain — the standard is human-verified, not "100% human".

For artists

One verified record, every channel.

Verification is the line your releases stand behind. After the three checks pass, the profile, the badge and the campaign all read from the same row.

  • Verify once, link from anywhere

A single verification record carries the credit chain for every release you campaign.

  • The verification result appears in your public profile

A badge on /artists/<slug> so listeners, curators and platform algorithms see the signal.

  • A discover directory is coming next

A wider discovery directory for verified human artists is on the roadmap (the explainer sets it up).

A note on citations

We cite only the sources we’ve verified.

The most reliable citations on Promosia’s standards are our own /verify page, and the verified roster on /artists. We don’t manufacture industry quotes; if a claim can’t be sourced, we leave it as a description of the dynamic, not a specific event.
